Finished Seville!

I finished the quilt top of this Seville quilt over the winter. I used scraps left over from the quilt on my bed and the robins egg blue was the fabric on my walls at the last apartment. I could not decide how to quilt the top of this quilt, so it sat unfinished for many many months, I finally settled on this being my first hand quilting project.

I went to Hobby Lobby with my 40% off Coupon and bought a quilting hoop and a leather thimble and got started!

I used hot pink and outlined all of the patterned boxes about a quarter of an inch from the border.

Last week, after about 2 weeks of working on it, it was all quilted and pretty! I couldn't decide what color to do the border in, so it sat on my chair for another week. Then I decided on lime green, the color of my current bedroom. The backing is also all blue.

I also hand stitched the border, instead of stitching in the ditch with a machine. I don't think I will ever go back to doing binding on a machine, and may take a seam ripper to my finished quilts around my house and re-stich the borders!

Oh Seville!

I've been spending the last week working on another Seville Quilt (pattern from Allison at As you may remember I made my first Seville for my Mom's Christmas Present.

That one is smaller than this new one. I want mine to go over the end of my bed. Today I finished up the top.

All of the fabrics are from my Dresden Quilt that is usually on my bed. The light blue is the current color of my curtains.

I also was puppy sitting this week. So here is a cute picture of Bruce :-)
